An App I Wish to Develop!

Getting organized is one of the most frustrating endeavors I have undertaken. There used to be no organization to my schedule, no to do lists. No idea what or when anything was happening. And now I organize my life with a little book I carry around, a google calendar, and the notepad built into my iPad. Now the content in each of these things overlaps greatly, however sometimes I find myself without my iPad or little book. While in high school we learned somewhat the beginnings to app development in my computer programming class. It was wonderful! Back then however I was focused purely on creating apps that were gimmicky and silly. Now I wish to try and actually make a phone app that works for what I need it to. I know what features I would like to have, and what things I definitely do not want to have. Most of these app developers nowadays seem to think having fancy animations is the way to go. Really I do not think it is. I want my app to basically have three tabs at the bottom for ease of use. Currently I am thinking of having a To Do list tab, a current events tab, and a notes tab. The To Do list tab will have have two categories the “To Do today” and “Maybe Do today”, then the each will have a subcategory called “Fresh” and “Rollover”. The fresh one indicates things on the today list that are new and added that day. Then the rollover category will be the things not done on yesterdays to do list. Each day at midnight the lists rollover making life simpler. Scratch that, there is a third major category I would like; “Recurring”. The recurring category reminds you of things to do every day or every week essentially. You should be able to set it up to say whether something is daily or weekly. There will be check marks for things on the lists, and you can select and deselect them. They disappear if they have been selected at the end of the day, to make things easiest I will prolly have any information from that day dumped into a log file that is compressed and be easily unpack-able by the app. Essentially having a feature that allows you to see what you did in the past if you want. Maybe make a check mark box in a settings menu somewhere where you can turn that saving feature on and off. The current events tab is basically going to just be a news feed and stock market analysis or something, I’ll have to make a program that pulls news articles and analyzes them and can spit out essentially what they said. That would be hella cool to be honest. Finally, the third note pad tab would work as essentially just a fun little note taking app. I want my app to have a top bar to it with like a little drop down menu and all that fun stuff. Maybe have the drop down menu have a bunch of useful extra tools in it like a super simply calculator, advanced calculator, and maybe a cooking measurement converter. Otherwise the top bar will have like a display for the weather at the top for your local area. I’m thinking like it just tells you if its gonna rain or something and the percentage chance and hours. Then finally a pedometer in the top left; if you press it it should display your walking information. Maybe have a customization tab so that you can add how tall you are and maybe how tall your legs are and it can do the math and better figure out your steps and all that fun stuff. I also want it to log things like the to do list stuff, and again have it as an option you can turn off. I really just want to make a Swiss Army knife app lol. I think it’ll be really cool!

Thank you for entertaining my idea for an app!
